Small spate today after yesterday's rain, with the water rising to 1.37m , a rise of 1ft 6in on the gauge in Drumahoe before starting to fall of again at 10:30am this morning.
Water was very dirty with lots of debris, despite this 4 Salmon and about half dozen Sea trout where caught in the tidal by the worm fishers.
Few fish seen running through , but expect most were keeping the heads down in the dirty water.
The trout caught today were all of a good size and averaged about 2lb.
As the water clears, should be good for the fly tomorrow, and with more dry and warm weather in the coming week. The trout fishing at night should give good sport.
